Field Day!

Granger Field Day Parent Information

Granger Field Day is next week!  Our students have worked hard all year, and now it’s time to celebrate!

*K-2 Field Day is Wednesday, May 22nd.  Students will meet in the gym at 8:15 and begin stations at 8:30.

*3-5 Field Day is Thursday, May 23rd. Students will meet in the gym at 8:15 and begin stations at 8:30.

Below is some important information to make sure your child is safe and ready for all the fun!

Clothing:  District dress code will still be in effect. Students will be most comfortable in t-shirts (Field Day shirt, if ordered) and shorts. If you did not order a field day t-shirt, please try to dress them in shirt color similar to their assigned grade level color.  Girls may have swimsuits under their clothes and boys may use swim shorts as shorts.

Shoes:  Tennis shoes and socks would be safest and most appropriate.  We will allow them to wear water shoes as long as they are closed-toe and are fitted to stay on their feet. We cannot allow sandals, flip flops, crocs, etc.

*Please check your child’s outfit for safety and appropriateness. Any child dressed inappropriately for field day will need to have the correct clothing/shoes brought to them before participating in the games.

Lunch:  Students may bring a lunch from home on field day.  If they do not bring a lunch to school, they can order and purchase a sack lunch from the cafeteria.  Lunches ordered from the cafeteria will be picked up from the brown door near the lunch lines in the cafeteria.

Students will have a picnic with their class in the gym/cafeteria.  All students will eat in those areas together. Students will need a towel to sit on with their lunch.

*K-2 Lunch will start at 11:20 on Wednesday

*3-5 Lunch will start at 11:15 on Thursday

Snack:  Students can bring a snack to eat in their classroom after field day is done.

Parking:  In order to utilize the parking lots for our field day events, there will be no parking in the front and back parking lots on Wednesday and Thursday next week.  If you could walk or carpool on these days, the reduced traffic flow would help us greatly! **If you drive a golf cart, please park it along the street with the cars.

Items to send with your child:

- Sunscreen: Please apply this at home before your child arrives at school. Teachers will not be able to do this for the students.  There can be no aerosol sunscreen sprayed inside the building. If you will be at Field Day with your child, you can re-apply sunscreen to your child outside only.

- Water bottle- There will be a few water stations where students can refill.

- Change of clothes and a bag to put wet clothes in after they change.

- Lunch, if they are bringing one from home.

- Towel

- Snack

*** Please note*** Per district policy, younger siblings and parents are NOT allowed on any inflatables/slides.

These are for Granger students only!  Thank you for your understanding.

Thank you in advance for your help and support in making this the BEST Field Day EVER!!!!
