24-25 Ultimate Book Challenge

UBC

What is it?

Ultimate Book Challenge (UBC) is a reading competition designed to improve reading and comprehension while also building enthusiasm for reading.  Students will compete individually and in teams to show their knowledge of 10 pre-selected books.

Who can compete?

Students in 3rd grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade are eligible for the challenge.

When does it start?

Students will be given an introduction to the challenge during their library visit.  Students can sign up through the September 30, 2025.

How will teams be formed?

Once sign-up closes, teams will be formed through a testing protocol which will be administered during library time.   

When is the school-wide challenge?

In December (December 16-20), the students will complete in a campus competition to find our winning school team.

When is the district challenge?

During the spring semester, our Granger UBC team will compete against the district's other elementary schools' UBC teams to declare a district winner.  

When will the new books be announced for the 2026-2027 school year?  

Titles for the competition next year will be announced by April 2026.
